Welcome to Palen Real Estate, Inc.  We are proud to present this site to you in hopes that you will have a better understanding about low income housing and are able to locate housing to fit your needs.

We get a lot of phone calls asking us about low income housing and how it works. Low income housing is a government program that bases rent on your income.  The first step in becoming a tenant in low income housing is to complete an application.  Please download the application you find on this site, complete it and mail it to our address.

Once we receive the application we can determine if you qualify for housing. There are income limits for each county that determine low income eligibility.  These income limits can be found at http://www.huduser.org/portal/datasets/il/il13/index_il2013.htmlIf you qualify you will receive a letter stating your position on the waiting list.  When we get to your name on the waiting list you will be contacted for an interview where a criminal background check, landlord and personal references will determine if you become a tenant.
